Frequently Asked Questions

The Tire Advisor uses our database of over 500 tire brands and 10,000+ tire models. It filters brands by season availability, weighs your stated priorities (comfort, performance, longevity, or value), factors in your budget preference, and ranks each brand by a composite score. The result is a shortlist tailored to your driving needs.

Yes. Our recommendations are generated algorithmically from aggregated review data and tire specifications. We do not accept payment for placement, and no brand can influence its position in the results. The scoring is based entirely on real performance metrics collected from professional tire tests and user reviews.

The Tire Advisor is primarily designed for passenger cars, SUVs, and light trucks. While many recommended brands also produce commercial-grade tires, the scoring focuses on consumer driving priorities. For heavy-duty commercial fleet needs, we recommend consulting a specialized dealer alongside our general brand ratings.

Our tire database is updated continuously as new models and test results become available. Brand scores are recalculated whenever new data is added, so the advisor always reflects the latest information. On average, we process several hundred new data points per month across all brands.

Not necessarily. The top result has the highest composite score for your criteria, but the difference between the first and second or third recommendation is often small. We suggest reviewing the top three to five brands, reading our full reviews for each, and considering local availability and pricing before making your final decision.
